Kingman Park: “Heat Island” and Home to RFK Stadium

A Heat Island is an urbanized area with less tree coverage and green space that experiences higher temperatures than surrounding locations.

The current stadium deal allows the Commanders an exemption to cut down "heritage trees,” large, mature trees that are illegal to cut down due to their irreplaceable environmental benefits.
